With February next month, it’s got us thinking about love around here at Local Revival. Even if you’re not a big fan of relationship love, love is all around us. Maybe you love your dog. Your favorite sports team. The perfect houseplant you picked up the other day. 80’s rock. Star Trek. Hula Hooping. Pizza. The list could go on. Whatever it is, love is a powerful emotion in our lives.
But what does love have to do with Local Revival? More than you think!
First, we LOVE what we do.
Yes, it sounds cliche, but it’s true. Being able to help others, meet new people, and use our creative problem-solving skills to design memorable experiences is a fantastic way to make a living. Sure, things can get stressful at times. Even the best job isn’t perfect. But, we get to work from home with our dogs. We can take breaks and step outside in the Florida sun. We interact with fantastic people here in Tampa and around the U.S. every day. What’s not to love?
Second, LOVE is a why our clients contact us, and the foundation of how we help them.
A bride planning her perfect wedding. A friend organizing a precious baby shower. A boyfriend setting up a secret proposal. A non-profit director looking to break fundraising goals. Love motivates them to contact us to help plan stress-free and memorable events.
But love also influences the vendors we work with for our events. How can our clients have a smooth experience if we don’t look to those we love to assist? It takes a village to put on a successful event. We choose to work with vendors we have hand-picked because they embody the same values that we do: professionalism, transparency, and an acute attention to detail.
Third, LOVE influences the local revivalists we feature, the products we curate, and the content we post on our blog.
We want to be your savvy biz friend. The one you look to for advice, guidance, and transparency. That stems from our desire to help others. Whether we know them or not. Life continuously presents challenges, so if we write an article, feature a product, or introduce a new business to make someone smile, think, or alleviate some sort of stress – that’s our goal! We don’t write just to hear ourselves talk. We don’t invest in products just to have “stuff.” And we certainly don’t waste valuable time getting to know businesses we don’t believe in. I’d love to say there’s some ulterior motive on why we like to do this, but the truth is there isn’t. We don’t make commissions talking about the businesses we feature. We don’t stuff our blog posts with advertisements and pop-up ads. Our market will be for profit, but we want it to also be an additional promotional source for our small business friends. Why? Because we’re small business owners ourselves. We know how hard it is to be an entrepreneur, so we want to do what we can to support others. This brings us back full circle – we love what we do.
