I’ve Tried Countless Workouts: This is the One That Actually Gets Me Out of Bed

#notanadjustafan

Not sure about you, but I’m not a fan of working out. I want to love it because I know a good sweat sesh always makes me feel amazing. However, half the battle always seems to be finding the motivation to go, right?!

At the end of last year, I signed up for eight classes at CycleBar Brandon to try something new. And you know what? I loved it! So now I’m on a monthly plan of 8 rides per month.

You would think riding in the dark might put someone back to sleep… But with the mood lighting and energizing music, it’s just the opposite!

Cycling isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s hard work and constantly challenging – mainly because I choose to go to the 6 am classes.

Feeling good isn’t the only reason I prefer CycleBar Brandon. Yes, it’s a great environment to help achieve my “move goal” without being utterly miserable at the same time, but there are some behind-the-scenes details that keep me coming back. Here are a few:

It’s a True Community – Not Just a Place to Workout

My “workout family” makes me feel at home: As soon as you walk in the door, you’re greeted with a smile and a hello (insert your name here). It’s like you’re walking into the set of Cheers (am I dating myself?) Amazing. Even if the greeter doesn’t know your name, they genuinely make an effort to find out and get to know you.

All the instructors are fantastic! Meggo (left) has some really creative theme rides, and Sarah’s (right) witty one-liners and energetic nature drives you to make each ride your best.

Nothing but good vibes

It’s all about the positivity: One might think with attendance being primarily female, things could get a little “catty” (we’ve all seen the commercials for Real Housewives, right?) But in my experience, I’ve encountered nothing but positive vibes. The instructors are a boost of energy. They leave uplifting messages on everyone’s locker, and while they challenge everyone to do their best, they do it with a smile and sometimes the crack of a joke. Even if you’re not a fan of working out, their positivity inspires you to feel differently.

I love the personalized messages that welcome you when you arrive for a class.

Think you can slack off? Think again.

They hold you encouragingly accountable: Whether it’s your first class or your 200th, instructors and attendees at CycleBar Brandon are there to cheer you on and challenge you to step out of your comfort zone. If it’s a notable ride (i.e., your 50th, etc.), they give you a shout-out during class (and, of course, everyone cheers). If you haven’t been to a class in a while, you’ll receive a gentle text reminder asking when they might see you again. Or, if you sign up for a class and decide to hit the snooze button instead of going, you’ll be charged a $15 “no show” fee. Yes, this might sound mean, but it’s in place to hold everyone accountable. It’s gotten me up plenty of times when I didn’t want to.

Get ready to “Rock your Ride”

There are so many more reasons, but these are my top three. Once again, this isn’t an ad. It’s just a fantastic place to work out. I always leave refreshed, inspired, and ready to start my day. As a bonus, I have met so many uplifting and badass women along the ride (pun intended).

So if you live in the Brandon/Bloomingdale/Riverview area and are looking for a new place to check out, I highly encourage you to stop by. Visit their website https://www.cyclebar.com/location/brandon, or message them on social media for more information.

CycleBar Brandon is located at 3317 Lithia Pinecrest Road, Unit 3335, Valrico, FL 33596

Also, if you don’t live in the area, other franchise locations are available throughout the country. And while I can’t speak to each specific environment, I would assume the CycleBar brand remains intact regardless of the area.

I’m curious, what is your favorite type of workout? Are you a fan of cycling, or do you prefer something different? I would love to know! Comment below or connect with us on one of our social channels (Facebook, or Instagram)

In case you didn't know, today is #givingtuesday! In case you didn't know, today is #givingtuesday! 🧡

At Local Revival, giving back and assisting those in need within our communities is an essential part of our business model.

And as a board member for Empower Her Network (EHN), I've seen how a non-profit's support network can make a difference in people's lives.

EHN is the only national program that ends generational cycles of violence, exploitation, and poverty of trafficking survivors by paving a path to economic freedom.

After being on the board for over three years, I can confidently say - the program works. Why?

✅ 100% of survivors graduate with stable housing

✅ The average annual wage at the start of the program was $18,015 BELOW the poverty line

✅ The average annual wage after they finish the program is $26,807 ABOVE the poverty line

✅ These results are often only the beginning. Many graduate as they complete a program with a promising career path

✅ 100% of donations go to programming because the NOVO Foundation covers operating expenses

This #givingtuesday, please consider donating to Empower Her Network and give the greatest gift of all: opportunity. 🧡

As a bonus, @the_changereaction has agreed to MATCH all donations up to $25,000! So when you give, your matched contribution allows us to reach our end-of-the-year goal faster - helping more survivors carve their path to fiscal independence! 🎉

xoxo, Summer

The weather cooking off in Florida a little keeps me motivated to chug along. If I feel like I’ve hit a rut, usually taking a quick walk to clear my head will do the trick 💪🏽

At Local Revival, we love events of every size. Fr At Local Revival, we love events of every size. From dinner parties to large bashes, we aren't afraid to take on a client's to-do list so they can relax and fully immerse themselves during their important day. 💪🏽

One of our highlights every year is helping non-profit clients with their annual fundraising galas. ✨

In October, we had the pleasure of designing and coordinating Rock the Dock, a celebration of artists and music that rocks - all while benefitting Chapters Health Foundation's Hospice division. 💃🏻🕺🏻

Held in downtown Tampa on the Riverwalk, it's a stunning backdrop for music, dancing, and raising money to support their mission: to provide choices, education, and guidance for those affected by advancing age or illness. 💕

Colorful bright red and blue linens topped with centerpieces featuring a neon LED light of different musical instruments were the focus within the main event area. While in the pre-event function showcased custom records printed with printed lyrics and lifesized cutouts of famous musicians. 🎼🎤

It was a beautiful evening full of rock n roll while benefitting an incredible cause in Tampa Bay. 💛
