For today’s Creative Re-use under 10, we have an idea that takes less than 10 minutes to put together but is a daily reminder of the exciting times spent away from home.
Being a small-business owner myself, I look for ways to support other small businesses every chance I get. Visiting a new city is a perfect time to seek out boutiques, farmer’s markets, craft fairs, or art galleries that sell original art by local artists.
Who needs another t-shirt, magnet, or shot glass?
Instead look for local photographs, hand-painted art on canvas or wood, mosaics, mixed-media pieces, and wall sculptures.
When you get home, create a gallery wall to display your new treasures. I have mine on a wall in my hallway where my friends and family can see the fantastic places we’ve visited.
Savvy Suggestion: Local artists and shops love to see what you do with the items you purchase, so be sure to share on their social media sites where you display their pieces.
What are some of the things you’ve purchased while on vacation? Have you started your own travel wall? If so, share it with us!
